The maiden edition of Ghana Celebrity Impact Awards (GCIA) has been introduced at a press event in Accra, where the schedule, entries, and key details were shared.
The award scheme aims at recognising and honouring celebrities and brands who use their influence to make impact on societal issues, inspire a culture of responsibility and community development.
Speaking at the press launch, Mr Ken Fiati who is the Director of Communications and Research for the GCIA noted the award scheme will celebrate the selfless act of improving the lives of others.
“Through this event, we will celebrate the power of philanthropy — we will celebrate those who have chosen to give back to their community, who have invested their time, resources, and energy into causes that matter. Whether it’s through education, healthcare, social justice or empowering marginalised groups” he stated.
“The celebrities we will honour at this event have demonstrated that true greatness is measured not by what you achieve for yourself but for what you do for others. The Ghana Celebrity Impact Awards will serve as a reminder that even in the phase of adversity, there are those who are committed to making a positive difference, those who are willing to use their influence to create a better world for all of us,” he reiterated.
The GCIA nominations are open and will close on Saturday, 5th October, 2024.
